A community is only as strong as its citizens, and today I am honoured to be part of a tribute that showcases the amazing and diverse group who has personified what it truly means to be an incredible leader in Greater Sudbury.

Since being sworn in as your Mayor on December 1st, I have had the pleasure of meeting people from all walks of life in this community - and have been amazed by the incredible passion and dedication residents have when it comes to wanting the best for our city's future.

Though an award is given in each category-the environment, arts, economic development, education, sports and recreation, and health care-it is our great community that is truly the winner for having these talented individuals and businesses call Greater Sudbury home.

We can only hope the tenacity, intelligence, creativity and drive shown by our winners will set an example for others striving to achieve the best in their professional field and everyday lives.

On behalf of City Council, and all citizens of Greater Sudbury, I extend sincere congratulations and thanks to this year's Community Builders award winners.
