Community Builders Awards: Denine Williams shines as winner in Arts category

Denine Williams has inspired students to pursue their dreams in the arts for over 30 years

A teacher at Korah Collegiate since the 1980s, Denine Williams has been an integral part of the local musical theatre community.

She provides students with a supportive and inclusive environment to develop valuable life skills and artistic abilities that they carry beyond the classroom into the community.

In addition to producing and directing high-calibre theatre shows for the Sault community, she is also known for making a difference in the lives of her students, providing them with the opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

Denine is constantly seeking out avenues to positively impact the local arts community, staging concerts and performances each year, arranging cultural trips for her students, and performing with the Korah Korahsters choir at various events and ceremonies around the city.

She continues to advocate on behalf of the arts in Sault Ste. Marie, enriching the lives of her students as she goes.

The Arts award goes to an individual that has helped to strengthen the local arts community by championing an individual, event, idea, ethic, or philosophy.

Congratulations, Denine!

This award is proudly sponsored by Savoy’s Jewellers.
