Community Builders Awards: Remembering George Stockfish, a local entrepreneur and generous philanthropist

George's legacy continues to inspire the North Bay community

George Stockfish's legacy is one of remarkable generosity and positive influence.

By building a successful automotive dealership from the ground up, George created employment opportunities for many individuals in the North Bay area.

Remembered as a man with an exceptional work ethic, George's contributions extended far beyond the realm of business.

Whether it was donating a Ford F-150 to Canadore College to support aspiring vehicle technicians or distributing personal protective equipment to frontline workers in long-term care homes, George actively sought ways to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

George's involvement in various community organizations highlighted his leadership qualities and dedication to service.

As a longtime member of the Widdifield Lions Club and former president of the North Bay YMCA, he exhibited a strong commitment to community development and the well-being of the North Bay residents.

George understood the importance of supporting local initiatives and actively volunteered his time and resources to make a difference locally.

Despite his numerous accomplishments and the positive influence he had on the community, he remained grounded and never sought recognition for his contributions.

George will be remembered for his sincere desire to improve the quality of life in North Bay for all.

The Legacy Award is awarded posthumously to an individual who has created lasting change and measurable difference in our community through commitment and perseverance.
